Introduction to Burlesque

A fun and playful step into the lustful world of burlesque! This exciting workshop will explore all the burlesque basics from its history to glove removal. Burlesque can feel very scary at first, but Lydia cultivates an environment of care and kindness. The workshop will celebrate self-love in all its radical forms.

All genders are welcome and encouraged!

Please note there will be no nudity in the session.

Please bring any type of glove, a note pad and pen, clothes you feel comfortable to move in (dressing up is also totally welcome!).

Whether you know absolutely nothing about Zines or you’ve been making them for years, this workshop is for you! I want to offer a space to be creative and have fun, and give some information and resources about the wonderful world of Zines while we’re at it!
This workshop will be on a drop-in basis so you can come and go as you please. There's no need to sign up, but if you already know you'd like it come please send me an email (2002232@bruford.ac.uk)

Jive Workshop

Have a great time dancing in this energetic jive dance workshop! In class, we will start with warmup stretches, learn some jive steps putting them together to music, then learn a choreographed dance. The class will finish with a cool down/ stretch. All levels welcome! Please wear comfortable shoes for dancing in- trainers will be perfect. Please wear comfortable clothes to dance in- i.e no loose clothing that could be distracting/get caught, no loose/large jewellery, please bring water, and a face towel is optional in case you get sweaty!
 

The Creative Power of Drama - An Introduction to Dramatherapy & Q&A

From children playing out scenarios in the playground to actors on a professional stage, drama is a powerful medium. Dramatherapy uses the creative power of drama to enhance mental health and wellbeing through play, improvisation, story-making, myth enactment, movement and more. This workshop offers the opportunity to find out more about dramatherapy and how drama is used by dramatherapists. There will be an opportunity for questions and discussion with the facilitators who are experienced dramatherapists in clinical practice and involved with training dramatherapists.

Please note that the purpose of this workshop is educational and is not offered as a therapeutic intervention.
